3 Ways to Prevent the Government (or anyone) Spying on You

Big brother is EVERYWHERE!

This is a bigger issue in some nations than in others, such as China, where social media sites are extensively controlled.

But anti-terrorism legislation in the USA and other ‘free’ countries means governments have much more leeway to spy on their citizens.

So here are 3 ways to prevent the government (or anyone) from spying on you.

Preventing Government Spying Vlog

Encrypted Messaging

Nowadays, most messages are sent over social media, and some of them are not end-to-end encrypted, which means that someone can hack into your account and take your information.

Encrypting your messages can help safeguard your data and keep it private.

Using a VPN is another way you can prevent people from tracking and/or hacking you (I use Tunnelbear).

Cover the Cameras

Are you aware that someone can hack into your device’s camera and record everything ‘it’ sees and hears?

This isn’t just for laptops. Your phones, tablets, and other devices with cameras that connect to Wi-F are just as vulnerable.

So cover the cameras on all of your devices,

It’s easy to do.

Any non-clear tape will work.

A post-it note is good if you do need to use your webcam often as you can remove and replace it without leaving any sticky residue.

Be Unsocial

Many people are addicted to social media these days.

Unfortunately, everything you post is available to the public (even if you set it to private, people with determination have ways to see it!).

Of course, completely abandoning social media isn’t practical for most people.

The next best thing is to just not post sensitive information, such as where you are or where you plan to be.

Also, limit the number of people who have access to your activity. It won’t stop everyone, but it puts up an extra obstacle.

Teach yourself escape and evasion,
because the skills you learn will save your life!
