Survival Climbing Training covers roping techniques bouldering skills.
Survival roping techniques are techniques using only rope for climbing or rappelling. It is only rope and no other specialist equipment. It also covers the making of improvised rope.
Bouldering is climbing without the use of ropes or harnesses. It complements parkour very well and is also great for all-body toning and workout.
The information in this post is from the book “Emergency Roping and Bouldering” by Sam Fury.
Over time I will expand on these lessons and make individual posts will for each.
Bouldering is part of fight and flight training. Practice general bouldering skills for speed and endurance.
Safety Note: Do not climb higher than you are confident to jump down. Consider using a crash mat.
The last three techniques are for “no-other-option” survival situations. When practicing them ensure you take all the necessary safety precautions.
Refresh your survival roping skills AT LEAST two times a year.
