Climbing rocks is a useful skill that can save your life in the wild.
However, in the Survival Fitness Plan, we want to focus on one type of climbing in particular.
Bouldering.
And in this article, you will learn why.
Bouldering is highly practical for the Survival Fitness Plan.
When you are running away from someone you will not have any equipment or the time to use it even if you did.
So if you come across something you need to climb over, you will have to use bouldering skills to do it.
Another reason to boulder is that it is more accessible in the sense that you can do it on any climbing surface without the need for equipment.
If you know how to boulder and have the basic skills and safety knowledge, you can probably do it anywhere in the world as long as you get out there.
And since it is low to the ground, it is also safer.
If you want extra safety while practicing outdoors, you can get a crash pad.
Lastly, bouldering, like all types of climbing, is an excellent full-body workout.
We use flight subjects as a way to get fit in the Survival Fitness Plan.
Climbing may not raise your heart rate as much as parkour, swimming, or self-defense, but it does tone your entire body.
