Start a Fire

It's difficult to start a fire with a mirror, but it's possible.

It's similar to starting a fire with a magnifying glass, but harder. You need direct sunlight. If it is cloudy, I wouldn’t even bother.

Improvised Knife

A knife is an extremely useful tool in a survival situation, but if you don’t have one, then you can repurpose your mirror.

You will have to break the mirror, then use the little shards as if it were broken glass.

Signal for Rescue

The most common use for a mirror in a survival situation, and possibly the main reason you have it in the first place, is so you can signal for help.

To do this, you need to aim it in such a way that the sun hits it and reflects the beam to whatever you want to signal, such as a boat or a plane.

You'll need some practice, but it's not too difficult to learn.

A mirror is an important part of any survival kit as it has a variety of uses and apart from the things mentioned above, you can also use it as a mirror!

It will allow you to look in places that you otherwise would not be able to see, which can be very useful for medical reasons and hygiene.
