3 Tips to Help You Stay Alive in the Jungle

The jungle can be a scary place when you’re lost in it. Would you know how to survive? Here are 3 tips that just may save your life.

Jungle survival is arguably one of the easiest environments to survive…

But it is far from easy.

Sure, there may be a relative abundance of food and water in comparison to say, the desert or if lost at sea.

But you have other issues to worry about.

Dehydration is still a massive issue and there are a myriad of dangerous animals.

So what would you do to survive if you got lost in the jungle?

Here are some of my recommendations.

Sleep Off the Ground

Why do you sleep off the ground?

Typically, the ground becomes wet and moist, making it an uncomfortable area to rest.

Not to mention all the creepy crawlies walking around that jungle floor.

You can make a raised bed or hang a hammock to keep you dry and the bugs and animals away from you.

The great thing about the jungle is that it offers so many resources that you can collect and use to build things out of wood or bamboo.

Hopefully, you have a machete or some other type of blade to help you out.

Wear Long Clothes

You may not have the need to keep warm in the jungle (they are often hot enough), but keeping yourself covered is good protection.

Insect bites are dangerous, especially in the jungle, because you don't know what diseases they may pass to you.

There are also a lot of things that can cut you, such as thorns and sharp leaves.

Getting small bites and scratches may not seem like a big deal, but in the jungle even a minor wound can get easily infected, and that’s a big problem.

If you do get any cuts, even small ones, make sure you take care of them well.

Get a Weapon

With all the dangerous animals around, even a primitive weapon may save your life and is also useful for hunting.

A simple spear or bow and arrow can be made from various resources in the jungle, such as bamboo, wood, and rocks.

Conclusion

Finding food and water is relatively easy in the jungle, but you still need to be careful.

You can gather it when it rains and many plants also contain water, but be sure you know what is poisonous and what is not because it could make you sick.
