The primary objective of self-defense is to prevent harm to others.

How can you defend yourself without hurting your opponent?

Avoiding the situation completely is one thing you can do.

Stay away from situations where fights are most likely to occur, and if you ever encounter someone who is acting aggressively, just walk away.

Leave as soon as possible in any circumstance that could result in conflict and violence.

Restrain

Arm locks and other restraint methods, such as arm bars, are effective self-defense strategies.

When done in an aggressive and forceful manner, this can be harmful, but when done under strict control, it can avoid conflicts.

Stop

Make sure to stop once your opponent has been badly hurt and you have no alternative but to fight for yourself.

Do not proceed to the point where you finish them because most aggressive individuals are just acting tough.

Make sure they are safe and okay no matter what conflict you are in.
